About us - Little Flower Preschool & Preparatory School in Brooklyn, NY

Little Flower Inc. was founded in May 1982. The idea was born based on a demonstrative need for child care for working parents at a time when many single-parent households were returning to work.
Little Flower is a private, non-public educational facility which addresses itself to serving the academic, social and cultural needs of children during the pre-school, primary, and middle school grades.

Each term of study ensures regular and ongoing assessment of student’s achievements. End of year grades are given based on New York State standards and Little Flower's high standards to ensure clear academic goals for each student in each grade level. Regular conferences, progress reports and correspondence will help parents to understand the academic goals.

The Montessori method is introduced in the pre-school through kindergarten range. Children will be provided with a wide range of sensorial and motor experiences because it lays the groundwork for early learning through discovering and exploration with a "hands on" approach.
Children are taught independence, sharing, organization skills, responsibility, individual and group learning.

Little Flower is an active member in the following professional organization. The National Association for the Education of Young Children & Child Care (NAEYC) and The National Association for Child Care Professionals (NACCP).
These organizations have a deep commitment of strengthening the professional and leadership skills of Child Care Directors.
